DESCRIPTION:Job Seeker Symposium- November 8\, 2012 (9:00 AM to 12:00 PM)\n                 "Navigating the road to successful employment when the path is unclear"\n            \n        \n    \n\n\n             \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n                       (Speakers will be available  for individual questions from 12:00 to 1:00)\n\n\n\nJoin us for this FREE session on Thursday\, November 8\, 2012 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Smithfield Fire Hall.\nThe road to successful employment is narrow\, difficult and tricky.  It is not a route that is neatly laid out for all to travel.  Especially in these economic times when companies are bombarded with 100's of resumes\, talented applicants\, new graduates and seasoned executives.  So how does someone map out this journey to gain successful employment? And\, what are the misleading road signs\, dead ends and traffic jams to avoid? \n\n\nPresenters include:\nMr. Greg Johnson- A graduate of Cornell University with a degree in Genetics Development & Physiology\, Mr. Johnson started his career in HealthCare. Over the last 33 years he has started and owned several companies both in U.S. and Internationally. He has spoken throughout the United States and in a number of international Markets including\; Australia\, Argentina\, Belgium\, Canada\, England\, Germany\, Haiti\, Ireland\, Netherlands\, Poland and South Africa.\nMr. Alex Seltzer- Currently serves as President and CEO of Manpower\, Inc. of Altoona\, PA\, a successful staffing organization with five offices throughout Central PA\, Regional Director for Priority Management-Pennsylvania and owns and manages multiple holdings in Real Estate. Mr. Seltzer is a certified Professional Coach receiving his certification from Duquesne University.  He earned his Senior Professional in Human Resources certification in 1995. Alex served on the board of The Human Resource Management Association of Blair County and Southern Alleghenies Workforce Investment Board.\nMs. Nancy Smithbauer-Nancy has been employed by the Department of Labor & Industry in Unemployment Compensation since 2001. She was promoted to UC Examiner in 2003.  Nancy was promoted to Workforce Development Representative in 2010 and currently assists Employers and Claimants in understanding Unemployment Compensation\, and navigating the processes to ensure the proper application of the program. \nTopics include: \n\n    Transitioning (The Process of Moving Forward)\n    What Stops People from Being all They Can be?\n    The Five Things Job Seekers Must Have to Succeed in Today's Job Market\n    Work Search Requirements and How Law Changes may Affect Future UC Claims\n\n Advance registration is required!
