Building a Culture of Employee Appreciation and Tips to Attract Employees
Presented by: Jimmy Brokenshire, A Step Beyond Leadership, LLC.
In order to build a culture that attracts employees is to have a culture that appreciates its employees. Not just in financial gestures and payment (which is expected), but with a deep understanding and respect for what drives them individually. We will cover how to ask the right questions and with the proper body language (as well as posture) actively listen to ensure proper retention. This will set the example and start the show of respect that will be reciprocated through good employee/co-worker engagement. It may sound difficult for some or easy for others, however we must always recalibrate our approaches to the changing environment to adapt to the current methods of how people communicate. Through conversations we are able to steer the organization’s needs to a similar path and see that both parties have vested interest in helping both succeed in the end.

Jimmy Brokenshire is the captain as well as training officer in the Warriors Mark – Franklin Volunteer Fire Company. He is a Pee-wee/Youth assistant football coach, active participant in a local church, and owns a company that works in leadership development as well as project management. He has been trained by amazing mentors to official training in the U.S. Army officer candidate school, ADI, EQI, HPI, and executive leadership with a large corporation. He has overseen projects with many foreign nations from China, Russia, Norway, Germany, Spain, Israel, Africa, UK, to many in the U.S. as well.
Through all of this, he discovered that using a horse, specifically a Clydesdale, we can have our behaviors directly reflected or mirrored into them. Tying leadership and Clydesdales really help to exemplify the chemistry that occurs within a person taking charge, setting the example, and showing confidence. A Step Beyond Leadership, LLC was developed to start out new leaders on the right path or help current leaders get better.
Jimmy lives on a small farm in Warriors Mark with 7+/- Clydesdales with his wife, a daughter, a son, as well as many other animals.
