Effective Visual Communication on Social Media

You have three seconds or less to catch someone’s eye if you want to get an idea across. If you can’t win your prospects’ attention, you can’t convert them into customers. We live in an age of information overload. “Every two days we create as much information as we did from the dawn of civilization up until 2003,” according to former Google CEO, Eric Schmidt. Humans can only consume so much at a given time. We have multiple inboxes overflowing with email, several social networks flooded with real time updates, and one or more mobile devices buzzing and beeping with even more messages. To truly cut through the clutter, it’s more important than ever for marketers to create web content that’s both useful and aesthetically pleasing. Consumers are gravitating toward visual content that conveys an idea and sparks an emotional response fast. If you want to create quality photos, images, charts, graphs, infographics, and other visual representations of data your customers and prospects want to consume, this session will offer the tips, design basics, and easy-to-use tools that will empower your business to do so.

Mazur was an award-winning designer and marketing, media and creative director for a number of advertising agencies and media production companies before becoming a marketing and communications specialist with Southern Alleghenies Planning and Development Commission.
